About the U.S.K.A. The United States Kenpo Academy was founded by Professor Robert Attebury and his first generation black belts.

The U.S.K.A. pays great respect to the Ed Parker American Kenpo System and its Founder.  American Kenpo students are comprised of two major followings:  Those that seek the traditional techniques as Senior Grandmaster Parker created them and those that believe Mr. Parker's vision of American Kenpo being a constantly evolving art and thus choose to tailor and modify techniques for a particular situation or student.  The U.S.K.A. respects both lines of thought and further considers all legitimate techniques - whether founded in Kenpo or other Martial Arts -   as "food for the table".

U.S.K.A. Philosophy

The U.S.K.A. places honor and integrity above the politics in the martial arts world. The Academy was created based on this belief and the mandate is to teach legitimate self defense for modern street fighting confrontations. Although our fighting system is rooted in Kenpo, we firmly believe in the “if it works, use it” philosophy.

The U.S.K.A. has a great respect for Senior Grand Master Ed Parker and his innovations in Kenpo. Many of Mr. Parker's techniques and concepts are part of the U.S.K.A. Fighting System. We also thank Mr. Bob White for his continued teachings of American Kenpo and the valuable insight into the history of the Art.

There are a great many schools that claim to teach the authentic Ed Parker American Kenpo System. The U.S.K.A. makes no such claim that we teach the full Ed Parker System. We teach a curriculum that incorporates Kenpo techniques as part of an aggressive and effective fighting system that the United States Kenpo Academy calls its own.
